Figment Change Purse (Dec 2023)

I've gotten behind on posting, My laptop died making it hard to get out here. I'm picking up a new one soon! This goes with the Figment Purse on the earlier post. Stopping by Epcot, we found these stuffed Figment heads that really served no purpose, and bought one. Unpicking all the stitching and removing the fluff inside, I made a small purple zippered bag, and then sewed the pieced of the figment head to the outside. Now, a unique coin and other purse.

This Christmas gift is in the books! It was gifted early, because, why wait! I have included the photo path or the build or the How-I-made-this in my 'How-To' section of the web site, for those interested!

Little Girl Purses

These little purses are reversible, to give 2 different looks for each one. I also created an insert, that can be moved from purse to purse very easily, and hold all the important stuff every little girl needs to keep near her. The insert protects the purse, so that each side always looks good!

I then added a special clasp, on a tether, to hold the purses closed. Other closures wouldn't have allowed the purse to be fully reversible. The clasp is very pretty.

Water Bottle and Snack Carrier

The beverage holster - I've been working on this project for a while now, and just got around to putting them together. Those are two 23 oz sports-style water bottles, but 20 oz soda or smaller bottles all fit in the drink pockets.

The drink section is quilted, with batting, to help keep drinks cooler. There's some towel fabric at the bottom, to help catch condensation, too. The pockets on these 3 are each different sizes, but all will hold a bunch of small snacks. It clips right on to many things, with a carabiner clip, so leaves your hands free.

August Update

It's been a busy spring and summer! I "vacationed", spending weeks visiting family in other states. I went on an Alaskan Cruise, and traveled by train from Seattle to Sacramento, to Chicago, to Washington and then down the coast to Orlando. I lost a dog, built a web site, worked on a business email project, rebuilt this website completely, made and delivered two quilts, and am working on several others.

Early in the year, I was advised that simply purchasing fabric that represents licensed content did not mean that I could use that fabric in another product that I was selling. While this made sense to me from the viewpoint of the original owner of the content, it didn't make sense to me from a consumer standpoint, as I personally made no agreement with the content owner in how I would use the the fabric I purchased.

I recently learned that the Supreme Court appears to agree with the consumer view. While there will be more lawsuits, I am sure, to really define this decision in full, I think it means I can go back to selling my products! I have resurrected my etsy site, and will be getting more of the products I have made out there to be sold.

The Gift - away

Disney-themed, big pocketed, carry-on bag
Last weekend, I gifted away a bag that I had made, to a lucky person who liked and shared my Facebook page.

I think I will try that again, to see if it helps drive more traffic, and hopefully more purchasers, to my sites.

That's three big pockets, under that fun Disney-themed film strip. Lots of room for tablets, glasses, magazines, well, you name it! Plus enough room inside for several days clothes and toiletries!
