My cousin served in Vietnam, he was a Green Beret, his tour was up in January, but in December word came through that he was missing in action, after a firefight, in Laos. Years and years later, it was decided that he was killed in that action, however, to this day, he is still Missing in Action.
He was my cousin, however, he lived with us for awhile before being shipped out, earning money to send home to his Mom and siblings. He made the best oatmeal for us in the mornings. We were just little kids, 10 and under, very impressionable. He treated us like people, liken the very best big brother and he never came home. It's 56 years this December/January. I've made and gifted a QOV for every year he hasn't come home.
I may continue making them, but if I do, I will have to start the numbering for another goal.
